I've Been Covered!
You know you've made it when the crazy novelty covers of your music start popping up!
Check out this version of Baba Yetu, created by a podcaster named Matt LaGoy , who comes with the tagline "Progressive Banjo For The Postmodern World."
I absolutely LOVE it. It's so wacky, and zany, and madcap....yet works so well. Every eight bars he launches into a new groove; ska, funk, samba...he's all over the place. I totally approve.

Very fun! But, seriously, please delineate the distinctions between wacky, zany and madcap - preferably musically. Am curious.

Wow, I just got called out! :) The Oxford Dictionary Of Music defines zany as 'inappropriate use of whistling,' wacky as 'replacement of french horn solos with banjo solos' and madcap as 'any song that tries to fuse Swahili lyrics with a ska beat.' That's the truth.

Hi!
This is Matt LaGoy here!
I can't believe my cover found its way back to the source. I'm very glad you enjoyed it! I hadn't listened to your original for a little while before recording it, so I let it mutate in my head before I recorded it. Stumbling through the Swahili was probably the most challenging. For some reason, I decided it didn't need any bass. I usually aim for "quirky".
